Marriot to Debut Eco-Friendly Brand in Egypt

Following the opening of the Kigali Marriot Hotel in Rwanda, its first hotel in sub-Saharan Africa, American multinational hospitality company Marriot International has announced plans to debut its stylish eco-incubator brand Element Hotels in Cairo, Egypt in early 2019.

The brand recognized as an industry leader in the eco-space offers travellers a fresh interpretation of the traditional hotel experience with natural light, modern design, healthy options and eco-minded sensibilities.

“Egypt is one of our key markets and we are excited to introduce a new brand to the capital’s city center,” said Alex Kyriakidis, President and Managing Director, Middle East and Africa, Marriott International. “Element Cairo will be a highly-anticipated addition to our rapidly growing portfolio presenting travelers an appealing, new option for short and long stays in this market. We believe travelers deserve more than a place to stay so we don’t compromise on comfort or quality for guests.”

Element Cairo will be the largest Element Hotel in the Middle East and Africa. The hotel owned by an Egyptian limited liability company, Middle East Real Estate for Development (MERED) a will be developed by Abraj Misr Urban Development.

The 344-room hotel will be part a landmark mixed-use project with a high-end retail mall housing Egypt’s largest indoor theme park and unbranded residences.

It will feature spacious studios and one, two and three-bedroom suites with a fluid design of modular furniture, fully equipped kitchens, the signature Heavenly® Bed and spa-inspired bathrooms.

Hotel amenities will include fast and free WiFi, complimentary bikes to borrow, a state-of-the-art 24-hour fitness center, 668 square meters of flexible meeting space and a fully equipped business center and an all-day dining cafe; as well as the complimentary healthy Rise breakfast and the Relax evening wine reception.

Element Cairo will be located in Cairo’s upscale Heliopolis district within easy access from the airport, downtown Cairo and New Cairo.

Element Hotel is also slated to open in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania by the end of 2017.
