Foreign and Commonwealth Office Calls For Bids on Scoping Study in Nigeria

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) is the UK’s foreign ministry, responsible for protecting UK citizens, projecting the UK’s global influence, and promoting the UK’s prosperity has called for bids on scoping study of “Business Environment in States in Nigeria”.

The 2015 Strategic Defence and Security Review announced a £1.3billion cross-government Prosperity Fund to run over the next five years (2016/17 to 2020/21). Its purpose was to promote the economic reform and development needed for growth in partner countries.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) seeks to appoint a Supplier to deliver a Scoping Study which makes clear, robust and evidenced recommendations for researching the business landscape across Nigeria at the State level and make recommendations as to how best the UK can broaden our prosperity and commercial engagement.

“Our priorities include improving the business climate, competitiveness and operation of markets, energy and financial sector reform, develop trade policy and increase the ability of partner countries to tackle corruption. As well as contributing to a reduction in poverty in recipient countries, we expect these reforms to create opportunities for international business, including UK companies.”

.This invitation invites companies to provide their credentials and outline their approach to this scope project which should include:

· identifying up to four Nigerian states as focus for the project, with clear evidence as to reason for selection

· research and work with key stakeholders to identify challenges and opportunities for doing business and examples of good practice in agreed States

· Presentation of this information in a concise and accessible manner to FCO and Nigerian stakeholders
