The Mozambican government has promised to create 300,000 jobs in 2015.
The Mozambican Deputy Labour Minister, Petersburgo was quoted by state-controlled Radio Mozambique speaking during a visit to the labour recruitment agency CONTACT in the context of the government’s programme to reorganize the labour market.
Licensed by the Labour Ministry, via the National Institute of Employment and Professional Training (INEFP), private recruitment agencies are supposed to work in close contact with the government to ensure that companies’ needs for labour are met.
The recruitment agencies, Petersburgo said, are part of the organization of the market, particularly in the component of training. Their labour recruitment policies should follow the targets set by the government and the market demand.
He said he was impressed with the work done by CONTACT in coordination with the INEFP, and urged both organizations to step up their partnership.
He noted that some of the jobs declared by CONTACT are not registered in the INEFP, although this is the government body responsible for labour market statistics.
