Ghana targets 53 New Factories Before Year End

The government of Ghana is set to begin construction of 53 new industries across the country under its flagship industrialisation agenda, ‘One-District, One-Factory’ before the end of this year.

The move forms part of the resolve by the Nana Akufo-Addo led government to set up at least a factory in each of the 216 districts across the country, Public Relations Officer of the initiative has said.Kweku Gyasi disclosed that a pineapple factory will be the first to be set up in Ekumfi, the home district of late President John Atta Mills, as stated by the President during his recent visit to the place.

Mr Gyasi refuted reports that the first factory had already been set up, adding that “numerous proposals” have rather been received for take-off of the project.He said the secretariat has so far received over 400 business proposals for factories to be set up across the country.
