Players in the solar and telecommunications industries in Rwanda have come together to make connectivity and mobile communication accessible to all Rwandans.
Mobisol solar solutions and MTN are offering customers a high performance Tecno smart phone for purchase on a rent-to-own-basis.
The Tecno W2 is offered along with the Mobisol solar home system and an affordable instalment payment scheme.
Mobisol Rwanda’s Ben Okello said the partnership is aligned with the company’s objective to empower children who study in rural areas where there is no electricity using solar so they benefit from clean and efficient light to connect to the Internet via mobile phones- thereby increasing their educational opportunities.
The Android smart phone which is dual SIM enabled is equipped with a large touch screen display, 8GB built-in storage space, a high-resolution camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity as well as long battery life.
With this offer MTN is giving customers a special data bundle that includes special free data bundles whilst they are still paying off the phone.
“MTN’s overriding mission is to be a vehicle for Rwanda’s economic growth and development, helping to promote Rwanda’s strong development potential from the provision of world-class telecommunications products and services, through to innovative and sustainable corporate social investment initiatives,” Yvonne Manzi Makolo, MTN’s Chief Marketing Officer said.
The payment plan for the smart phone is through MTN Mobile Money.
