French Development Agency Approves Financial Support for Agricultural Development in Burkina Faso

The French Development Agency (FDA) says it has approved a funding agreement of CFA19.65 billion for Burkina Faso to support three agricultural projects.

The concessional loan, according to statement from FDA, was initialised by Hadizatou Rosine Coulibaly, Burkina Faso’s Minister of Economy, Finance and Development and Tanguy Denieul, FDA’s Director.

“This loan will help support cooperatives, both local communities and agricultural sectors’ operators to develop agriculture and meet quality and quantity demands,” Mr. Denieul said.

The funds will be used to support the Burkinabe government undertake a project to manage rural land and natural resources, revamp a Food Security Project (PSAE-IT) in the Eastern part of the country dubbed Tiwara, and contract farming projects as well as ecological transition project (PACTE).
