Argentina’s National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA), Directorate General for International Cooperation and the Argentine Embassy in Mozambique have entered an agreement with Technoserve to develop no-till farming demonstration plots in central Mozambique.
Technoserve is a non-profit organization that harnesses the power of the
private sector to help lift people out of poverty by building competitive farms, businesses and industries in developing economies.
The farming project in Mozambique seeks to demonstrate how the implementation if the Argentine production system and its related technologies can increase food production levels while reducing environmental degradation.
It has also been enabled by a Memorandum of Understanding between the Foreign Ministers of Argentina and the Netherlands to promote triangular cooperation with Mozambique; signed by the respective nations Ambassadors to the African country, Federico Villegas Beltrán and Pascalle Grotenhuis.
The MOU enables the insertion of Argentina into sustainable agriculture projects by Dutch cooperation and Technoserve in Mozambique, ongoing since 2013
