Air Seychelles has launched Scenic Flights, a new product offering more choice of activities to tourists visiting the island nation.

The flights will give air travellers panoramic and bird’s eye views of Seychelles’ largest island Mahé at low altitudes.

The product was developed in collaboration with Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) which has co-designed the low altitude routes and the travel trade and DMCs who will be key distributors of the Scenic Flights.

“Flying at a low altitude on a Twin Otter aircraft, our service will provide breathtaking views of many famous sights and landmarks of North Mahé, from stunning beaches to the verdant rolling hills of the national park, all framed by the Indian Ocean,” Roy Kinner, Chief Executive Officer, Air Seychelles said.

The 30-minute flight on a Twin Otter DHC-6 400 with 19-paasenger capacity will start from Seychelles International Airport, taking guests on a North Mahé tour with Cerf Island, Moyenne and Ste Anne islands visible to the right.

It will then headpast Anse Major, the Baie Temay marine park and Port Launay, providing unparalled views of the Mome Seychellois national part before circling back at Grand Anse beach.

The first Scenic Flight is scheduled for takeoff at 11am on 16 August 2016 flying a group of travel agents and tourism industry representatives.

The flights will be available for bookings directly with Air Seychelles and Seychelles DMCs.

The product comes in the backdrop of the airline’s recent suspension of some routes in Europe.
