The national airline of the Seychelles, Air Seychelles has announced that it will commence a non-stop charter service from Chengdu, China to Seychelles this July.
The service has been made possible through the carrier’s collaboration with the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) in a series of promotional events to increase awareness of destinations in the island nation in China recently.
“We are delighted to have worked together with STB to make these charter flights a reality and look forward to welcoming our first guests from Chengdu and treating them to our famous Seychellois hospitality,” said Roy Kinnear, Chief Executive Officer, Air Seychelles.
The Chief Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board Sherin Francis said the charter flights from the capital of China’s Sichuan Province, support STB’s efforts to increase tourist arrival numbers from China, one of the fastest-growing travel markets in the world.
Kinnear added, “China has enormous potential for the Seychelles tourism industry and we are keen on continuing to work closely with a number of partners in China to attract a growing number of visitors to our islands.”
Air Seychelles recently launched easy one-stop connections to Beijing, China following the expansion of its codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways, providing guests with convenient travel options to Beijing and in turn to Seychelles further contributing to the promotion of tourism.
The direct non-stop charter flights from Chengdu to Seychelles will be operated from 19 July 2017 through to 23 August 2017.
The service which will be operated on the airline’s Airbus A330 aircraft will provide a total of six return services during the period.
