UK-based tax outfit, MGI Worldwide has accredited and partnered with Nairobi-based firm Alekim Associates, a move Alekim notes will propel it to the league of premier accounting firms in Kenya.
Alekim Associates said its services will now be considered as an alternative to KPMG, Ernst and Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte & Touche and PKF East Africa. MGI Worldwide, which is headquartered in the United Kingdom, is a global accounting network of independent audit, tax and advisory, Certified Public Accountants and accounting firms.
Felix Kimoli, a partner at Alekim, said the deal “is a way of assuring to our clients that for us to have been admitted into this association, it implies that our processes have been tested and the people who are supposed to make sure that we are on the right track have checked that we are doing well”.
Kimoli added that “what this means to our clients is that those clients who have jobs and works to be done outside the country, we can be able to link them with our partners and associates in those other countries”.
Jonathan Farrow, MGI Worldwide representative revealed Alekim Associates would now have access to expertise from around the globe and this will instil confidence among clients and entire networks. He also noted that MGI has a presence in more than 80 countries and works with about 5,000 professionals.
According to MGI Worldwide, member firms are subjected to regular quality reviews to make sure that they operate to the highest international quality standards.
