The Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania will be the destination of the Mobile 360- Africa Conference from the 11th – 13th, July 2017.

Mobile 360- Africa is a platform where mobile operators and other players in the ecosystem including government officials, ICT, finance, NGO and media leaders across sub-Saharan Africa evaluate digital inclusion, network coverage and customers’ quality of experience and discuss their interests in and concerns of the mobile industry.

The event is organized by GSMA, a trade body that represents the interests of over one thousand mobile operators worldwide.

Michael O’Hara, Chief Marketing Officer, GSMA said, “The positive transformational impact of mobile is being felt more profoundly in Africa than anywhere else in the world, with more than half a billion people across Africa now subscribed to a mobile network. This connectivity provides them with a gateway to a range of other essential services in areas such as digital identity, healthcare and financial services.”

Mobile 360- Africa 2017 will explore how African leaders can leverage the power of mobile to build smart communities and make a digital Africa inclusive for all by prioritizing mobile connectivity in their national digital strategies.

Participants will share ideas and best practices and discuss trends and innovations as well as address the most pressing issues in mobile through keynote addresses, workshops, panel discussions and fireside chats.

GSMA’s Mobile for Development programme will also highlight its initiatives and activities which focus on increasing access to and use of life-enhancing mobile services; acceleration of socio-economic improvements for the underserved especially women, rural and youth; digital and financial inclusion; and identity for the unregistered.
