Global leader in employee benefits and reward schemes Sodexo Group and food ordering site Jumia Food Kenya have entered a partnership that offers employers M-Kula, a mobile solution that will enable their employees to access food delivery services at the office.
“The new partnership between Sodexo and Jumia Food helps tackle the problems that employers face in providing meals and allows meals to be delivered to the employees’ desks,” Neil Ribeiro, CEO, Sodexo Kenya said.
Sodexo provides services that enable employers to easily implement professional incentive and recognition programs whilst creating a satisfying work-life balance and contributing to the personal development of their staff.
The new solution that provides accountability and control will enable the Kenyan employer to implement the 2014 Amendment to the Finance Act that calls for employers to give their employees Kshs48, 000 worth of meals tax-free annually.
The Act requires employers to show the meals provided, cost and location of consumption, making the app the best approach.
The platform allows employers to hand out vouchers that staff can redeem through M-Kula which gives them access to over 200 restaurants listed on Jumia Food.
Duncan Muchangi, Managing Director of Jumia Food explained that all consumers have to do is visit the JumiaFood website or the mobile app M-Kula and order their meals, without the need to move from their desk.
M-Kula is available on iOS and Android
