Mathieu Dutrisac has been appointed the General Manager Amadeus IT Group for the East Africa region which covers 13 countries: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Djibouti, Eritrea, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Burundi, South Sudan, Somalia, Malawi, Comoros and Seychelles.
The Amadeus IT Group provides advanced technology solutions for the global travel and tourism industry.
Mathieu will be responsible for overseeing business strategies across all travel channels in corporate and leisure travel agents and lead the company’s initiatives to expand in East Africa whilst driving technological innovation.

He takes to Amadeus eight years of experience in telecommunications and Information Technology from previous assignments as Chief Operating Officer of Airtel, Congo Brazzaville; and Chief Commercial Officer of Tigo, Democratic Republic of Congo. Earlier in his career as an IT professional Mathieu was a developer at Nortel, Marconi and Texas Instruments.
The new GM holds a Bachelor in Computer Engineering from Ecole de Technologies Superieure in Montreal, Cananda and an MBA from IE Business in Madrid, Spain.
He takes over from Juan Torres who takes a new position in the company.
Mathieu’s appointment will be effective 1 July 2017. He will be based at the head office of Amadeus East Africa in Nairobi, Kenya.
