Bernarda Martins, minister of industry, said on Thursday, that the Government of Angolan continues to work to ensure the better quality goods and infrastructure for people’s use.
The minister was interacting with the press on occasion of the opening ceremony of the workshop called Confidence in Construction Sector in Angola.
The event was held taking into account of festivities of World Accreditation Day on 9th June.
The minister asserted that the goal of creating the institutions was to produce better quality products or goods for consumption.
According to officials, the institutions are in place to monitor the quality and standards of products.
She said that although IAAC existed, the government of Angola was taking significant steps to improve the quality of the products.
Inadec, an institution that works for consumer protection, and IAAC have an agreement in place.
She further added that the governing of accreditation was to make sure compliance with companies and bodies responsible for laboratories’ accreditation.
The event was held on the occasion of IAAC’s (Angolan Institute of Accreditation) partnership with Construction and Public Works Regulatory Institute (IRCCOP and Angolan Institute of Standards (IANORQ).
The objective of the workshop was to create factorial approach on accreditation issues. Members of Angolan Government, various industry professionals and leading industrialists were the prominent attendees.
