Express Shipping and Logistics (ESL) East Africa’s Kenyan subsidiary has been named the Best Clearing & Forwarding Company in the country.
ESL Kenya, a shipping, logistics and forwarding company, received the accolade at the Inaugural East Africa Maritime Awards this weekend.
Express Shipping and Logistics East Africa said in a statement that the company was pleased with receiving the award and planned on maintaining its level of customer service.
The organisation, which is famous for offering integrated shipping solutions and supply chain management to investors in the maritime trade, was incorporated in 2001.
Since then, the group has grown into a multi-regional operation, with offices in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
In 2017, Express Shipping and Logistics East Africa opened a hub office in Nairobi, Kenya on April 1.
The award has helped the firm cement its position as an industry leader in the region.
“Our continued excellence in service delivery has been sustained by our ability to fulfill customer expectation,” the group said in an earlier statement.
The award comes at a time when Kenya’s government is working to improve the country’s port-based services.
The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA), a regulator operating within the country’s shipping industry, last month waived fees charged on rent for cargo which have overstayed in its warehouses.
ESL’s win also comes less than a week after the Authority welcomed one of the world’s largest cargo ships as it docked in Kenya’s Port City of Mombasa. The KPA received the 300-meter long Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) MAXINE on Thursday, October 25th, 2018.
ESL Kenya has since expressed optimism for the country’s shipping industry as the company vows to maintain its momentum.
