Bajaj Electronics Limited, an Indian manufacturing conglomerate, has announced plans to raise its investments in Nigeria. This was disclosed during a meeting in Lagos with the company’s dealers. Bajaj stated the need to reinforce its presence in Nigeria, which is an important market in Africa and the world at large.
Beena Koshy, the Executive Vice President and Head, Exports Division of Bajaj Electronics, promised that the firm will continue to deliver quality products to consumers across the country. She also noted that Bajaj has identified dealers and distributors who will be key to making the expansion possible in the coming months.
According to Koshy “Nigeria is a very important market for us and that is why we are working tirelessly to come up with products to serve the various needs of its people. Going by the size of the strategic nature of the Nigerian market, we knew we had to come make our presence felt”.
She added that “basically we are into the business of appliances, fans and lighting. We have ensured that the products we are bringing are powerful and fit the Nigerian environment and weather. We want to give consumers value for their money”.
The Head, Marketing and Sales of MACE Nigeria Limited, Sesho Saurav, who is one of the main distributors of Bajaj electronics in Nigeria, was confident the products will perform well in the market. He said “our target is not just to bring quality products into Nigeria, but also ensure they are affordable for consumers”.
