EatOut, Kenya’s most popular food community, will this month kick off the first-ever Nairobi Beer Festival, which will run for a period of ten days coinciding with the famous Munich Oktoberfest Beer Festival in Germany.
The festival will have two components, starting with a two-day beer tasting event on the 29th and 30th of September followed by week-long beer promotions at bars and restaurants citywide from 1st -7th October.
The two-day tasting event, organised in partnership with Baraka Events, will take place at Js Fresh Bar & Kitchen in Nairobi, bringing together beer lovers, distributors and master brewers in one space for a one of a kind celebration of beer.
Beer enthusiasts will have the chance to sample over 40 different varieties of beer from across the globe during the tasting event. Judging by the response on the discounted early bird ticket sales which were sold out within 48 hours, the tasting event expects to draw over 2,500 beer fans over the 2 days.

Beer partners for this first edition include; East Africa Breweries Limited (EABL), with over 12 portfolio brands, including the popular Tusker Lager, Guinness and WhiteCap Lager as well as Carlsberg, Tuborg, Heineken, Desperados, Amstel, Alska Cider, Oettinger, Warsteiner, Sierra, Big Five and Bateleur.
Corporate partners include; Fly 540, Ad House, Barclays, Brown’s Cheese, Bella Luna Kitchen, Houston Consult Ltd, Keringet, Ola Tortilla Chips, Confini Candy, Create A Tee and Mara Moja.
From the 1st to the 7th of October, EatOut will run beer promotions throughout the week at over 30 select restaurants and bars. Participating outlets will extend offers such as all day happy-hours, beer bucket deals and beer and food combos.
Some of the participating restaurants include: Brew Bistro, Kengeles, Artcaffe, Roadhouse Grill, and Sierra, among others.
