Joe Falter Replaces Paul Midy as Jumia Travel CEO

Joe Falter has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of Jumia Travel replacing Paul Midy who takes up a different position within the larger Jumia Group.

Jumia Co-Founder Sacha Poignonnec expressed his confidence in Falter as the right leader to accelerate the travel company’s journey towards becoming the only preferred travel agency in the continent and beyond.

Falter is the Founder and CEO of Jumia Food, a sister company in the Jumia Group’s ecosystem.

“I could not be more excited to join this dynamic team which is revolutionising the way that people travel in Africa and beyond. With by far the biggest hotel inventory and market leading innovations, Jumia Travel is a clear leader in travel, tourism and hospitality, and I am thrilled to be leading the business forward,” Falter commented on his appointment.

He brings to the position experience in strategic management and a track record of scaling companies in Europe and Africa which Jumia Travel will leverage to capitalize on emerging business opportunities.

Falter was previously a management consultant at McKinsey in London, UK.
