Big Square, an increasingly popular Kenyan fast food chain, has partnered with fuel marketer, Vivo Energy Kenya as part of an aggressive expansion program that began in 2012. As part of the initiative, the franchise recently unveiled its 13th branch at a Shell Service Station in, Nairobi, Kenya’s capital.
The strategic opening of the branch is part of the Big Square’s plans to strengthen its network and market share across the country as well as enhancing its value proposition.
The expansion program has seen the brand open 12 outlets with 11 in Nairobi and one in Mombasa since 2012, and most recently in Nairobi CBD area in November last year.
Big Square said the new restaurant outlet will provide both motorists and shoppers the opportunity to experience their array of authentic home-made meals with recipes to “ensure a unique Big Square experience in a cool and relaxed environment in the Mountain View area.”
The announcement comes just seven months after Jumia Food, Africa’s leading online food delivery service, partnered with Big Square, allowing customers to get meals delivered to their doorstep through the Jumia Food App.
At the time, Managing Director for Jumia Food Kenya, Shreenal Ruparelia said Big Square was one of the fastest growing and beloved food brands in Kenya.
“We are delighted to provide an online platform where all customers in Nairobi can easily order meals from 9 Big Square and Pizza Mojo outlets available at just a tap away,” Ruparelia said in a previous statement.
