The Rundu Town Council has invited members of the business community to take advantage of the opportunity to sponsor the Rundu Trade Fair in promoting their businesses.
The Rundu Trade Fair is billed to be hosted by the council from 1st to 5th of November this year.
At a breakfast meeting with members of the local business community on Friday, the Rundu Town Council called on those in attendance to support the event through sponsorship or the exhibition of their business products and services.
The Rundu Trade Fair, which will be held for the first time this year, is the sequel to the Okavango Trade Fair which was organised annually by an association established by the then Kavango Regional Council through its Rundu Urban Constituency.
Quite recently, the regional council resolved to relinquish the organisation of the event to the town council, Rundu mayor Verna Sinimbo explained at the breakfast meeting.
The event will be held under the theme ‘Embracing and promoting our cultural diversity towards socio-economic development.’
The venue will be the convention centre at the Rundu Multi-Purpose Trade Centre, popularly known as the Trade Fair Centre.
Sinimbo thanked the business community for their support of previous trade fairs through their generous sponsorships and participation.
The trade fair this year is expected to be bigger and we ask that you once again support this event by sponsoring, participating and giving input towards its organisation, she said.
As part of the plan to raise funds for the trade fair, a gala dinner will be held on 30 September at the convention centre.
The town council is also expecting the gala dinner to be attended by a large number of stakeholders from all corners of the country to pledge their support.
