A global tool dubbed 16: Infrastructure Projects for African Integration, designed to attract and increase private sector investment in Africa’s transboundary infrastructure is set to be launched in Dakar, Senegal.

It contains a profile of all the 16 projects adopted by African Heads of State at the Dakar Financing Summit for Africa’s Infrastructure in June 2014.

The main outcome of the Summit was the Dakar Agenda for Action which the leaders adopted to leverage Public-Private-Partnerships for infrastructure transformation and to accelerate the implementation of the Program for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA).

The collaborative effort between the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) agency also contains an abridged version of the ECA and NEPAD report on the continent’s domestic resource potential.

It was produced at the request of Senegal’s President Macky Sall.

Senior government officials, representatives of embassies and international organizations are expected to attend the high-level launch at the King Fahd Hotel on Thursday December 15, 2016.
